New rules for Nigerian Manufacturer’s Certificate of Production

New rules established recently by the Nigerian Standards decree that all pro-forma invoices that are sent, especially those pertaining to Documentary Credits, must be accompanied by an attached copy of the manufacturer’s Certificate of Production for all the goods mentioned on the pro-forma invoice.  This is to ensure that no shipments are made into Nigeria for goods which are substandard or not to the agreed specification.

Therefore, anyone who wishes to export to Nigeria must ensure they can obtain a manufacturer’s Certificate of Production prior to agreeing to supply goods.
